Back from winter.

Some Winter holiday sketchbook work:

3 luminopticates.

Divesristy of cloverheads.

Weird, heavily-inked robot guy.

Some quick people sketches (fineliner) in Paddington Station.

Once I got back, I had a play around with nodes in Maya's Hypershade and made a rim-light effect and a blue, energy-esque material.

I followed instructions from this video for the rim-light:

Maya - Rim Light Shader from CG Bootcamp on Vimeo.

I also made a quick model of one of the DiamondBack Cloverheads (see above)

Legs and ears need a lot of work.

And now for some terrifying childhood memories:

Possibly one of the scariest things I remember watching as a child, and even now it makes me feel uneasy.
I think one of the most unsettling things is the hollow eye sockets.

What I like about this song is that the music has certain 'verses' which all have their distinct sound; variations on the same theme. The animation for each scene reflects the music verse, such as the buzzing bee, or the wood-block 'toybox' sound when the pop-gun elephant appears near the end.
One of my favourite bits is the crazy HunneyPot, I just love the way it's animated when the lid is off.
